1. INTRODUCTION
Welcome to the next stage of Red October Games’ Charity Escalation League.
This event will take place on Sunday 16th August 2026 and will see players expand their forces to 1,000 points for three rounds of Warhammer 40,000.
The Charity Escalation League follows participating players as they gradually build and paint their armies throughout the year while raising money for the Angel Trust.
2. SCHEDULE
09:30–09:50 – Registration
09:50–10:00 – Player briefing
10:00–12:00 – Round 1
12:00–12:45 – Lunch and Round 2 pairings
12:45–14:45 – Round 2
14:45–15:00 – Break and Round 3 pairings
15:00–17:00 – Round 3
17:10 – Results and awards
Players should arrive in enough time to register and be ready for the first round to begin promptly at 10:00am.
3. ARMY COMPOSITION
- Armies must be no more than 1,000 points.
- Armies must follow the current Warhammer 40,000 army-construction rules.
- Players must use the army and faction they have selected for the Charity Escalation League.
- Any additional escalation league painting or purchasing requirements remain in effect.
- Players should bring a printed or digital copy of their army list.
- Opponents and Tournament Organisers have the right to review army lists.
- Army lists do not need to be uploaded to Best Coast Pairings before the event.
4. REGISTRATION
All players must register for the event through Best Coast Pairings, also known as BCP.
Pairings, results and tournament standings will be managed through the BCP app.
Although BCP registration is required, players are not required to upload their army lists.
5. TOURNAMENT FORMAT
- The event will consist of three rounds.
- Each round will last two hours.
- Round 1 pairings will be random.
- Later rounds will use Swiss pairings based on tournament results.
- Pairings and scoring will be managed through BCP.
- Players should report their results promptly at the end of each round.
- Tournament Organiser rulings are final.
6. TERRAIN
- Terrain will be preset before each round.
- Players must not move terrain unless instructed by a Tournament Organiser or agreed as part of the mission setup.
- Players should discuss and agree how each terrain feature will function before beginning their game.
- A Tournament Organiser should be called if players cannot agree on a terrain ruling.
7. PAINTING AND MODELLING
As part of the Charity Escalation League, players are expected to continue building and painting their chosen army throughout the campaign.
- Conversions, kitbashes and suitable third-party models are permitted where they clearly represent the intended unit.
- Proxies that do not reasonably represent the correct model or unit are not permitted.
- Models should be mounted on appropriately sized bases.
- Any league-specific painting requirements must be completed before the event unless otherwise agreed with the organisers.
8. WHAT TO BRING
Players should bring:
- A legal 1,000-point Warhammer 40,000 army
- A printed or digital army list
- Relevant rules, codexes and FAQs
- Mission cards or required gaming materials
- Dice, measuring tools and counters
- Objective markers
- A pen or method of recording scores
- A tray for moving models between tables, where possible
9. GAME TIMING
Each game will last a maximum of two hours.
Players are responsible for managing their time fairly and ensuring both players have a reasonable opportunity to complete their turns.
Players should not begin a new battle round if there is insufficient time to complete it. When time is called, games should finish the current action and record the score reached at that point.
Deliberate slow play or time-wasting may result in a warning or penalty from the Tournament Organiser.
10. SPORTSMANSHIP AND CONDUCT
The Charity Escalation League is intended to be a welcoming, enjoyable and friendly event.
Players are expected to:
- Treat opponents, staff and spectators respectfully.
- Play fairly and communicate clearly.
- Resolve minor disagreements calmly.
- Ask a Tournament Organiser for assistance when required.
- Respect all venue rules.
Abusive, aggressive or disruptive behaviour may result in removal from the event without a refund.

Free parking is available on-site, with additional parking available nearby.
12. ENTRY
Entry is £10 per player.
Places should be booked in advance and players must also register through BCP.
13. VENUE FACILITIES
- Toilets are available on-site.
- Smoking and vaping are only permitted outside in the designated area.
- Food is available to purchase from the venue.
- A licensed bar serves alcoholic drinks, soft drinks and hot drinks.
- Outside drinks are not permitted.
- Players are expected to drink responsibly.
14. PHOTOGRAPHY
Photographs may be taken during the event for use on Red October Games’ website and social media pages.
Players who do not wish to appear in photographs should notify a member of staff or a Tournament Organiser.
